Free E-commerce system and step by step configure Magento

One of the very famous free open source e-commerce system is Magento.  Out side the frontend for customer to register account, search, browse product and make a only purchasing, Magento has a power full backend system, Magento Admin Panel, with alot of modules: Dashboard, Sales, Catalog, Cusomers, Promotions, Newsletter, CMS, Reports and System.

D.1. First at all download 
xampp-win32-1_6_7-installer.zip 
magento-1_2_1_2.zip
magento-sample-data-1_2_0.zip

D.2. Setup xampp-win32-1_6_7. it run well on Windows Server 2008 64 Bit SP2. You can choose what version of XAMPP that you want, and must also choose suitable Magento version to run with XAMPP

D.3. XAMPP Control Panel, If Apache can not start, we should restart server, and should check if there ia any application use port 80 or 443

Browse to magento-sample-data-1.2.0 and select magento_sample_data_for_1.2.0

D.16. Copy catalog from magento-sample-data-1.2.0\media to C:\xampp\htdocs\magento\media

D.18.Can config with any Location, Time Zone and Default Currentcy
